Behind every restored beam and reglazed window stands a team of architects, craftspeople and conservators devoted to The Tannery. Their shared ambition has been to let the building's history lead, intervening only where it deepens the story.
Working closely with heritage specialists, the design team has researched the original tannery's materials and methods, allowing each new detail to sit comfortably alongside the old.

From bespoke joinery to carefully sourced stone, the makers have approached the project as custodians as much as creators. The result is a place that feels both wholly new and quietly rooted in its surroundings.
In the months ahead we will share more conversations with the people shaping The Tannery, offering a closer look at the craft that defines it.
